Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of the Samjiyon tourist area under construction and major enterprises in the city of Hamhung.
Looking round the construction sites in the Samjiyon tourist area, he stressed the need to enhance the responsibility and role of the designing, construction and supervision officials, increase the operating rate of the construction equipment and take more detailed measures to supply manpower, equipment and materials.
At the Ryongsong Machine Complex, he acquainted himself with its remodelling project and current production and underscored the need to more powerfully conduct the plan and command of the project and push ahead with the production of compressors of different kinds at the same time.
At the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, he underlined the need to normalize the production, expand the variety of melamine resin goods and accelerate the construction of the slow effective granular urea fertilizer production process and the catalyst production base.
Earlier, he visited the State Academy of Sciences and the State Commission of Science and Technology and emphasized that the scientific circles should rise up as one to surely support the successful completion of the five-year plan and powerfully lead the development of the national economy with tangible sci-tech successes.
The consultative meetings held on the spot discussed relevant issues and took necessary measures.
