The Korean people celebrated the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation as an all-people auspicious event which marked an immortal milestone in the glorious course of the nation building and development and opened a new era of building an independent power. A reception was given at the Mokran House on August 15 amid the nationwide joy and excitement.
Present there were leading officials of the Party and government and meritorious persons of socialist patriotism.
The national anthem of the DPRK was played.
Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, made a speech at the reception.
He warmly congratulated the participants who were invited to the reception for celebrating the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation with the pride that they have made tangible achievements conducive to the prosperity of the country and the wellbeing of the people at their revolutionary posts, in support of the policies and plans of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government.
He said that the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation is shining as the history of succession unprecedented in world history, which has recorded the tenacious struggle and successes of all generations to firmly defend the precious tradition which brought about Korea’s liberation and remain faithful to its spirit all the time.
We have always made efforts to live in the spirit and traits of the fighters of the first generation who pioneered the revolution, he said, adding that it is the great pride for us to have added brilliance to the long history of 80 years with great victories and glories by inheriting the ideological and spiritual wealth created by the forerunners.
He expressed the will to remain faithful to the idea and spirit created in the 20-year-long anti-Japanese war and on the untrodden path of nation building and to continuously write a new history of building a powerful country with devoted patriotic struggle and good results which can demonstrate before the world the great people’s country.
All the participants toasted the eternal development of the great country.
