The use of the artillery force in modern warfare constitutes the most important factor deciding the victory or defeat in the operations, battles and war.

The artillery force is the core arm of our revolutionary armed forces.

The Workers' Party of Korea has already directed main efforts to bolstering up the artillery force of specially great strategic and tactical significance and presented it as the most crucial task of the line of building the Juche-oriented revolutionary armed forces to make the artillery force the strongest arm.

And it regards the education field for the artillery as the most important aspect of the military education sector.

O Jin U Artillery Academy is a "pedigree" establishment for training the backbone of the artillery force in our country.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected the academy on September 6, 2024.

Underlining that the academy should train competent military personnel, who are strong in idea and faith and possessed of high military qualifications in the future, too, he said that the training for the thorough combat posture of the entirearmy and the military education are the two fronts for building a powerful army, which should be pushedforward vigorously.

Stressing the need to steadily accelerate the work ofmodernizing educational means and putting education on an IT and scientificbasis, he noted that all the teachers and researchers of the academy should improve the quality ofeducation and thoroughly establish thehabit of studying and the military discipline in the campus so that the cadetscan acquire deeper and richer military knowledge during their school days.

He added that all the artillery commanding officers from this academy should be all-round artillerymen and artillery talents well-versed in the Juche-based artillery tactics and ultra-modern military hardware with different striking capabilities and possessed of full combat command capability for overwhelmingly containing and wiping out the enemy by coping with any situation of modern warfare rapidly and fully.

Kim Jong Un oversaw a live artillery firing drill of graduates of the artillery academy on the eve of their appointmentas active commanding officers early in October.

Watching their skilled handling of artillery pieces and good marksmanship, he said he could see that the academy had attached importance to the military theoretical education and the training for real war, and expressed great satisfaction over the live firing results.

He stated that the graduates' records are a voucher to their ability of military studies and a guarantee for the security of the country and the people, and that the graduates of the academy should ensure the steady progress of the artillery force with their high political consciousness of being commanding officers in charge of the core arm of our army, operational and tactical insight and excellent marksmanship.
