In the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), the words “patriotic” and “youth” always come together as fixed designation when referring to the young people.
Such appellation cannot be found nor heard anywhere else except the DPRK. Then, how can it be only available for the DPRK youth? The answer can be partly found from the admiration of delegates from other countries, who participated in the World Youth Festival of March 2024. The admiration was for the miraculous feats our Korean youth performed in the great socialist construction.
The participants could not repress their feelings mixed with envy, surprise and admiration about the patriotic feats of our youth, unanimously saying as follows;
”We are greatly impressed by the fact that the Korean youth completed the construction of a large building cluster which includes dwelling houses for thousands of households in less than one year―a task entrusted to them by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un . We came to realize once again the sense of organization and unity of the Korean youth and their invincible might. We hope to see with our own eyes the creations built by dint of the efforts of the Korean youth.
Youth in every country would have a feeling of affection for their fatherland where they were born and grew up.
As the Korean youth keenly realized through their actual life that patriotism lies in being loyal to the idea and leadership of the leader, they do not hesitate to devote their youth, the most valuable part of one’s life, in the most difficult fronts for the prosperity and well-being of the country. In this course, they make their life more worthwhile.
The patriotic devotion of our youth to the struggle for turning the fatherland, which is led by a great leader, and guarantees the happiness of posterity, into an ever-prosperous socialist paradise is indeed their true feature and patriotic will.
