Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Meetings took place in Bulgaria and Switzerland and lectures, round-table talks and film shows in Germany, Romania and the Czech Republic on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the DPRK.
Present at the events were personages of political and social circles and members of the Juche idea study organizations and organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people in those countries.
Films and videos showing the brilliant history of socialist Korea and the fighting spirit of the Korean people were screened at the film shows.
Speeches were made at the events.
The chief of the Kim Il Sung Library in Sofia of Bulgaria said that the great Comrade Kim Il Sung waged the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle for 20 years to achieve the cause of Korea's liberation and founded the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on September 9, 1948.
Under his leadership, the Korean people eradicated the aftermath of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule in a short span of time and turned the country, a backward agricultural state, into a powerful and developed socialist industrial state which the principle of independence, self-sustenance and self-reliance in defence was thoroughly embodied, the chief said.
The chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee referred to the feats President Kim Il sung performed in building a country and winning the victory in a war and the exploits the President performed in ensuring that the stamina of heroic Korea in postwar reconstruction and socialist construction was shown and the spirit of the Korean people demonstrated.
The chairman of the Anti-Imperialist Forum of Germany said:
After the liberation of Korea, the genuine people's party, the people's power and the people's army were founded under the wise leadership of Comrade Kim Il Sung .
Korea is a great country that performs miracles and feats day by day.
The chairman of the Romanian National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea praised Kim Il Sung as the eternal President of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and founding father of socialist Korea.
A congratulatory message to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting held in Switzerland. -0-
