In January 2025 many labour innovators and meritorious persons were invited as special guests of the Workers' Party of Korea .
"Frankly speaking, I couldn't believe the news that our Party invited me as a special guest.
Special guest refers to the most friendly and honoured person, you know.
I did only what I had to do for supplying the inhabitants with domestic water. But our Party invited me to the new year celebrations as a special guest and let me and others receive the best treatment at the Yanggakdo International Hotel. And we had a photo taken with the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the headquarters building of the Party Central Committee on January 2."
That is what Rim Myong Il, Workteam Head of the Songyo District Water Supply and Sewerage Management Station, who was invited as a special guest, always says to the people he meets.
He has been working at the water supply and sewerage management station for nearly 30 years with unusual attachment to his workplace.
All those invited to the celebrations as special guests were ordinary people like Workteam Head Rim Myong Il.
Labour innovators and meritorious persons including miners, farmers and researchers take it for granted to work faithfully in their workplaces and concentrate on researches day and night.
The WPK, however, values their strenuous efforts and patriotic conscience more than a colossal sum of money and bestowed boundless honour on them.
That's why Kim Jong Un met labour innovators and meritorious persons and said that thanks to the large contingent of genuine patriots filled with a strong will and ardent enthusiasm to bring earlier the future of a powerful country by dint of their strenuous efforts, only victory is always in store for our glorious motherland, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, which is making a dynamic advance and leap forward, ushering in a new era of national prosperity
The feats and innovations performed by the simple people in their workplaces are put together to bring earlier the future of the prosperous country.
