Seventy-six years have passed since diplomatic relations have been established between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The historic tradition of friendship between the peoples of the two countries, which was firmly forged in bloody war against Japanese imperialism, led to an inseparable kinship with the national liberation and establishment of diplomatic relations as milestones, and has developed steadily through ages and centuries braving all sorts of trials of history.

DPRK-China friendship, which has maintained its intrinsic nature in the sacred struggle for the common cause of socialism and even in the tribulations of history, has now been elevated to a new strategic level under the direct attention of the supreme leaders of the two Parties and two countries.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un had a significant meeting and talks with the General Secretary Comrade Xi Jinping in Beijing in September, 2025. At the meeting, the two leaders exchanged candid views on vitalizing high-level visits and strengthening strategic communications between the two sides.

Comrade Kim Jong Un affirmed that the friendly feelings between the DPRK and China remains unchanged, irrespective of change in the international situation, and the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK remain steadfast in their commitments to steadily strengthening and developing the DPRK-China relations. He went on to note that the DPRK will invariably and fully support the stand of the Communist Party of China and the government of the PRC in their efforts to safeguard national sovereignty, territorial integrity and development interests.

Comrade Xi Jinping said that the Party and government of China attach great importance to the traditional China-DPRK friendship and are committed to effective safeguarding, firmly consolidating and finely developing China-DPRK relations. He also noted that the position of China remains unchanged irrespective of change in the international situation.

The bond of friendship and genuine comradeship existing between the supreme leaders of the two Parties and two countries serve as a driving force that dynamically propels the DPRK-China friendship, undaunted by any challenge or changes in the situation.

It is the unwavering stand of the government of our Republic to dynamically accelerate the development of DPRK-China relations to cope with the changing situation and the demand of the times through close cooperation between all sectors of the two countries including the diplomatic area in line with the spirit of the DPRK-China summit.
