Development of Socialist Public Health – DPRK’s Eternal Policy

On November 19, 2025, Kangdong County Hospital was inaugurated as the first entity of a regional hospital, projecting a dynamic development of our health care and its bright future.
It has been built true to the noble intention of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un committed to providing an affluent and civilized life to everyone born to this land with socialist policies no matter where they live - in or outside the capital city, in urban, rural or mountainous areas.
Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that to protect and improve our people’s health is the most pressing, yet most honourable revolutionary undertaking that needs to be shouldered and carried out under any circumstances, favourable or otherwise.
Having set the rejuvenation of public health sector as the top national priority, our Republic spares nothing to this end.
In recent years alone, pharmaceutical factories and medical appliance factories have been modernized, and standard pharmacies and advanced hospitals including Ryugyong Dental Hospital, Okryu Children’s Hospital and Samjiyon City Hospital built in different parts of the country. Of late Pyongyang General Hospital was open to the public, which is expected to play a pivotal role in the public health sector of the country.
Inclusion of public healthcare facility in the regional development policy and inauguration of its first entity - Kangdong County Hospital - corroborate the superiority and vitality of the socialist system of our style which defines it as its policy to provide the people with advanced medical care and civilized life by promoting the overall development of the public health sector.
Each person’s life counts more than anything else and the Party, the State and everything else on this land can exist only when all the people stay in good shape - this is the invariable faith and will of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .
Thanks to the wise leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who holds the people dearest and wages a dynamic campaign for the promotion of our people’s well-being, an ideal society for people will surely be built on this land where everyone enjoys a healthy, comfortable and happy life.
