Forest resources are disappearing at a very rapid pace due to various factors such as logging and forest fires in different parts of the world.
The reduction of forest resources is also giving rise to serious problems such as air pollution and biodiversity destruction which threaten the very existence of humankind.
The reality of diminishing forest resources calls for due attention to be paid to afforestation and conservation, an indispensable asset for the existence and development of mankind.
Our country is vigorously carrying out the afforestation as an important undertaking for the development of the country, the happiness of the people and the prosperity of all generations to come.
Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that reforestation is not simply about planting trees, but is about planting our Party’s policy, ardent patriotism and the pure conscience that will remain unchanged forever. And he personally planted trees in Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, Hwasong Hill and other places, to set a noble example of patriotism.
March 14 is marked as the Tree-planting Day every year in our country.
We will continue to direct great efforts to afforestation in the future, too, so as to turn our country into a clean pollution-free country, into a more beautiful people’s paradise and fulfill our responsibility in the protection of ecosystem.
