At a meeting withofficials on one day in September 2012, the respected General Secretary KimJong Un talked about grass seed planting as an important topic while givingvaluable instructions on the overall state affairs.
After stressingthe need not to sow the seeds merely after removing weeds, the GeneralSecretary gave detailed instructions on how to cultivate turf.
Before planting theseeds, the ground should be dug 30 to 40 centimetres deep, soil be roasted andsieved to be spread, and after sowing the seeds, they should be covered withsoil two or three millimetres thick, he said.
After a while, hesaid that any work cannot be done properly without efforts, adding that he hadcreated a lawn to cultivate turf, like doing flowers in pots, through differentexperiments, with a view to laying good turf throughout the country at anycost.
Now the officialsfelt a lump in the throat as they came to realize that what he just explainedabout how to cultivate turf was not a quote from a book but the experience andknack he had personally gained and acquired in the process of planting theseeds and tending the grass.
