The finals of the Inter-provincial Mass SportsContest-2026 and a closing ceremony of the 2026 Spring National Sports Festivaltook place at the Kim IlSung Stadium here on April 23.
Present there were Pak Jong Gun, vice-premier of theCabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission who is vice-chairman ofthe National Sports Guidance Committee, Choe Chang Hak, first vice departmentdirector of the C.C., Workers' Party of Korea, members of the National SportsGuidance Committee, officials concerned, sportspersons, participants in theinter-provincial mass sports contest and Pyongyangites.
There were the finals of the Inter-provincial MassSports Contest-2026.
The players fully displayed their skill they havecultivated through mass sports activities.
In the final of tug of war, the Pyongyang municipal teambeat the North Phyongan provincial team.
At the awarding ceremony, the standings in events of the2026 Spring National Sports Festival and the total standings in theInter-provincial Mass Sports Contest-2026 were announced and rotating trophycups, medals and prizes conferred on the successful teams and players.
Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports,declared the 2026 Spring National Sports Festival close.
In the festival, 30 players set new national records invarious events as weightlifting, shooting and track-and-field. PyongyangMunicipality took the first place in total standings of the Inter-provincialMass Sports Contest-2026.
