The central education information centre of the Ministry of Education is successfully pushing ahead with the work to improve the modernization and informatization level of education.
Having worked out a long-term plan for educational informatization on a phased and annual basis, the ministry and relevant units direct efforts to its implementation.
Researchers have made fresh progress by pooling their wisdom to operate and update the national education information system which is of great significance in putting the country’s education on a digital and intelligent basis.
They are working to upgrade the integrated education information system–which encompasses the resources of teaching, studying, experiment and practical training and educational management–so that it can pay off in educational practice. And they are also classifying and standardizing the educational resources.
The centre issues a journal to introduce papers related to IT and educational informatization, contents concerning education support programs and development of cutting-edge products, and new teaching methods created in the efforts to make the educational contents practical, comprehensive and up-to-date, making a contribution to the work of the education sector.
The education support program centres in Pyongyang and Kaesong municipalities and Jagang Province and elsewhere have achieved successes in developing various programs helpful to the local teachers and students.
The centre focuses on rapidly disseminating excellent educational resources in Pyongyang to regional institutions and helping them build up their databases.
