One day in May 2013, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Songdowon International Children’s Camp situated on the shore of the East Sea of Korea.
Making rounds of the camp, he gave detailed instructions on the renovation of the camp.
He abruptly asked how the campers did exercise on a rainy day. Upon hearing a report that they then gathered at the hall to conduct indoor activities, he said to the accompanying officials that it was necessary to build something like a gym.
He made his way to the seashore. He stopped by and looked over the sandy bathing beach and the swimming pool nearby for a while, thinking of something.
Presently, he pointed to the need to replace the pool with shower and changing facilities and build a swimming pool near the playground in a modern way and a gym alongside.
Afterwards, the camp was modernly remodelled, with the result that the campers can play to their heart’s content at the gym and swimming pool.
Every year, many schoolchildren at home and abroad enjoy their time at the camp.
