The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK issued a statement on July 7 to denounce the US for its hideous hostility toward the DPRK.
The statement came after the US Department of State announced a report on the DPRK’s "human rights issue", which is full of lies and fabrications, and the Treasury made public a list of targets of special sanctions on July 6.
The US impudently picked on the supreme leadership of the DPRK, the statement said, condemning it as the worst crime that can never be pardoned.
Thunderstruck by the rapid growth of the DPRK’s nuclear deterrent, including the successful H-bomb test and test-fire of ballistic missile from a strategic submarine and ground-to-ground intermediate long-range strategic ballistic missile, the US is desperately aligning to all-round sanctions and pressure against the DPRK, it stated.
Being driven to a corner in the political and military confrontation with the DPRK, the US is cutting a ridiculous figure, challenging its supreme dignity over the “human rights issue”, which only reveals the Americans’ dread and fear of the absolute, ever-growing prestige of its supreme leadership and their miserable plight, it noted.
The US dared challenge the DPRK’s supreme dignity like a new-born puppy knowing no fear of a tiger, and this is the worst hostility and an open declaration of war against the country as it has gone far beyond the confrontation over the “human rights issue”, it said.
Now that it has passed over the “red line” in the all-out showdown with the DPRK by perpetrating such a thrice-cursed crime, the DPRK has come to have the legitimate rights to take all necessary countermeasures, it stated.
The statement clarified the following stand:
First, the US should immediately and unconditionally retract the recent sanctions measure hurting the supreme dignity of the DPRK.
Second, every space and channel of diplomatic contact between the DPRK and the US will be cut off the moment the US refuses to accept the demand.
Given that the US declared a war on the DPRK, it will cope with all problems arising in the bilateral relations pursuant to its wartime law.
Third, the DPRK will take the toughest countermeasures to resolutely shatter US hostility now that its anti-DPRK policy has reached boiling point in such a way as to hurt the DPRK’s supreme dignity.
