Kim Yo Jong, first deputy department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, released the following statement on June 13:
I fully sympathize with the statement released by the director of the United Front Department of the WPK Central Committee on June 12.
If the south Korean authorities have capability and courage to carry out at once what they have failed to do for the past two years, why are the inter-Korean relations still at a stalemate as now?
We should not lend an ear to and trust the trite speech and behaviour they let out for only form's sake as they always make a fuss belatedly, nor pardon the sins committed by the betrayers and human scums.
Getting stronger day by day are the unanimous voices of all our people demanding for surely settling accounts with the riff-raff who dared hurt the absolute prestige of the Chairman representing our country and the great dignity and flied rubbish to the inviolable territory of our side and with those who connived at such hooliganism, whatever may happen.
The decision that we should force the betrayers and human scums to pay the dearest price for their crimes and our corresponding retaliatory plans have become a firm public opinion at home, not part of the work of the field in charge of the affairs with the enemy.
It is necessary to make them keenly realize what they have done and what inviolability they hurt amiss.
It is better to take a series of retaliatory actions, rather than to release this kind of statement, as those with bad ears may miscalculate it as the "one for threatening" or they can make any rubbishy comments on our intention to their liking.
I feel it is high time to surely break with the south Korean authorities.
We will soon take a next action.
By exercising my power authorized by the Chairman, the Party and the State, I gave an instruction to the arms of the department in charge of the affairs with the enemy to decisively carry out the next action.
Before long, a tragic scene of the useless north-south joint liaison office completely collapsed will be seen.
If I drop a hint of our next plan the south Korean authorities are anxious about, it is to entrust the right to taking the next action against the enemy to the General Staff of our army.
Our army, too, will determine something for cooling down our people's resentment and surely carry it out, I believe.
Rubbish must be thrown into the dustbin.
