Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, awarded the "Paektusan" pistols to the major commanding personnel of the armed forces of the Republic on the occasion of the 67th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

The significant awarding ceremony was grandly held in the office building of the Central Committee of the WPK on the afternoon of July 26.

Kim Jong Un came out to the venue of the ceremony to award the "Paektusan" pistols to the major commanding personnel of the armed forces of the Republic.

Present at the ceremony were Vice-Marshal of the Korean People's Army Pak Jong Chon, Chief of the General Staff of the Army, commanding officers of the services and corps-level units of the Army, leading commanding officers of the armed forces at all levels and members of the Executive Committee of the KPA Committee of the WPK.

Also on hand were senior officials of the Party Central Committee.

At the ceremony Kim Jong Un said he was going to award the new "Paektusan" pistols developed and produced by the munitions workers to the major commanding personnel of the armed forces of the Republic on the occasion of the great V-Day. It is an expression of the great trust and expectation of the Party to the army commanders of the new generation to carry forward the revolutionary cause of Juche to completion with the arms of the revolution in their hands, he added.

He stressed that the commanding personnel of the armed forces of the Republic should thoroughly prepare themselves as the genuine military revolutionaries with ardent and true loyalty to the glorious Party and state, as those strongest in idea and faith filled with the monolithic idea of the Party and the firm revolutionary spirit and as the competent military activists well-versed in the military idea, theory and tactics of Juche.

Kim Jong Un awarded the "Paektusan" pistols carrying his name as a token of his trust to the major commanding personnel of the armed forces of the Republic, expressing the belief that they would be intensely loyal to their noble mission for the Party and the revolution, for the country and the people and go invariably along the long and rugged road of revolution under the leadership of the Party for the final victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche.

The army commanders had the greatest honour of receiving the "Paektusan" pistols awarded by him. Putting on their breasts the weapon of the revolution they would carry it with themselves on the road of the harsh decisive battles, they chorused a pledge of loyalty to Kim Jong Un and the Party Central Committee.

Looking up to the Party flag, they made a solemn pledge to believe and follow only Marshal Kim Jong Un to the end of the earth in whatever upheaval and discharge their sacred mission of safeguarding the leader, the country and the people, keeping the "Paektusan" pistols given by him till the last moment of their lives like the veterans who had fought the anti-Japanese war and the anti-US war with the arms of the revolution given by the great leader Kim Il Sung in their hands and like the leading personnel of the army of the Songun era who had firmly defended the forefront for defending socialism, regarding the pistols awarded by the great Kim Jong Il as the pillar of their faith and will.
