Patients suffering from aseptic necrosis of the femoral head hope to walk while preserving their bones.
Medical workers of the Hamhung Railway Hospital are curing them by applying a method of minimum medical injection by means of paracentesis needle.
The therapy makes it possible to decrease the internal pressure of the femoral head through its perforation and expand the blocked blood vessels by administering an injection, with the result that oxygen supplies nutritive substances to stop necrosis.
And it relieves ankyloses caused by necrosis by means of kinesitherapy.
Its operation is simple and its treatment takes about 5 to 10 minutes. It gives no pain or burden to patients and has no side-effects.
It can be applied to any patients, irrespective of the age or the period of sickness. There is no need for patients to stay in hospital as they do not need any special rest during the whole period of treatment.
What is characteristic is that the treatment combined with kinesitherapy produces greater efficacy.
Its treatment costs very low as raw materials abundant in the country are used to this end. It also enables a patient to preserve the femoral head permanently without depending on an artificial one.
