The Phibada Opera Troupe marked its 50th founding anniversary.
The history of the troupe which was organized with the start of the revolution in the operatic art is the one of loving care and honor in which it has developed under the care of the peerlessly great men.
President Kim Il Sung set forth the idea of creating an example of the Korean-style opera, illuminated the orientation and ways for implementing it and bestowed warm favors on creators and artistes of the troupe.
Chairman Kim Jong Il set July 17, Juche 60 (1971) when it gave the premiere of the revolutionary opera "Sea of Blood" in the presence of the President as its founding day and put great trust in it so that it can steadily add luster to the glorious tradition of the anti-Japanese revolutionary literature and art.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un has led the troupe so that its creators and artistes could creditably fulfill their honorable mission and duty as the thoroughgoing defenders and implementers of our Party's line on literature and art who are boundlessly faithful to the Party.
A meeting took place at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre on Friday to mark the anniversary.
