Researcher Kim Jin Hui at the Institute of International Studies released an article titled "Immoral Crimes Blocking the Way of Independent Development".

The article reads:

Some time ago, UN experts in human rights issued a joint statement, which denounced that the unilateral sanctions of the United States exert a serious influence on the economic development of many countries and the improvement of the people's living and violate the right of development of the state and stressed that "the right of development is the inalienable human rights".

"The right of development is the inalienable human rights"--this is the definition clarified in the "Declaration on the Right of Development" which was adopted at the 41st session of the UN General Assembly on December 4, 1986, 35 years ago.

According to the declaration, the World Conference of Human Rights adopted the "Vienna Declaration and Action Program" in June 1993, which recognized that the right of development is a category of the human rights.

Though tens of years has passed since then, however, the right of independent development, a legitimate right of a sovereign state, has failed to be definitely valued as genuine human rights on the international arena and instead, it has been ruthlessly violated due to the US unilateral and illegal interference in internal affairs.

Owing to the US blockade which has been lasting for more than 60 years, Cuba has suffered tremendous economic damage of over one trillion US dollars.

Even amid the worldwide pandemic, the United States pressurized the foreign companies having dealings with Cuba again last year to turn down the delivery of breathers badly needed for the treatment of the malignant epidemic. Recently it has taken a step of extremely restricting the transport of goods to Cuba, giving a blow to its public health and great hindrance to the people's living as well.

In Venezuela, Syria and other countries, too, the overall economy is ruined and the normal and peaceful development of the sovereign states seriously hindered due to the US tentacles which have been stretched out not only to politics, economy, military affairs and culture but also to the realm of everyday life.

The seriousness of the situation lies in the fact that such acts of grossly violating the right of independent development are done under the signboard of "protection of human rights".

Nowhere in the world can be found such a country as the United States loudly talking about the "human rights".

Whenever opportunities permit, the United States groundlessly finds fault with the "human rights issue" of other countries. It also makes public a "report on human rights of countries" every year as if it were an international judge of human rights, slandering the human rights situation of other countries.

In July last the US Department of State raised the "improvement of human rights and democracy" as a top-priority task of the American diplomats dispatched to different countries of the world and gave even the instructions on examining all means available in the course of carrying it out, revealing its wicked plot to interfere in others' internal affairs through "diplomacy of human rights" in a more intensive and open way.

Especially, the United States regards the "human rights issue" as a means of political pressure on the anti-imperialist independent countries.

It abuses the legitimately elected government of Belarus as an illegal one engrossed in "violence and oppression" and not content with this, eggs the anti-government forces on rebellion. Tenaciously taking issue with the issues of Xinjiang and Hong Kong of China, the United States schemes to make a breach in the political stabilization of China.

All facts clearly show once again that the US talk about the "human rights" is nothing but a trick to realize its ambition for world domination without difficulty.

The United States is the most heinous anti-human rights criminal state in the world seriously infringing upon the normal and peaceful development of the sovereign states under the pretext of "human rights".

Without destroying the US hypocritical moves committed under the signboard of "protection of human rights", is it impossible to achieve the independent development of each country and build a free and prospering new world.

Now many countries are resolutely opposing the US violation of human rights hindering their development.

The US moves committed under the signboard of "protection of human rights" are doomed to failure.
