The officials and employees of the Pyongyang Timber Mill, who have fulfilled their yearly assignment under the national economic plan ahead of schedule, continue to make innovations in production so as to provide the major construction sites with various building parts of good quality.
Manager Kim Song Il says:
"Our mill is faced with a task to produce and supply necessary furniture and fittings in time now that major projects are done extensively. We are accelerating production with main stress on increasing the rate of home production of the finishing building materials."
The mill is ensuring the full operation of the equipment while giving priority to the supply of raw and other materials.
It is producing over 40 kinds of wooden products of various shapes and colors including desks, chairs, tables and doors.
It is introducing valuable technical innovation achievements in time to ensure the productivity and quality of the products.
Department Head Pae Yong Sik says:
"It is, first of all, important to improve the quality of products. Our technicians and skilled workers have introduced various inventions into production and thus laid a firm foundation for improving the quality of products."
The workers in charge of sawing are improving the production efficiency and the quality of products from the preceding process by introducing a rational method of cutting into sawing up logs.
The technicians and skilled workers in charge of other processes such as drying, glueing and painting are improving the quality of the products through repeated collective study and discussions.
The employees are making achievements in production with the enthusiasm to produce larger quantities of good-quality wooden products and thus contribute to the improvement of the people's living.
