The dynamic struggle of workers in metal and chemical industries, the twin pillars supporting the independent economy, gathers momentum.
Those of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and Chollima Steel Complex brace themselves up to increase production.
Workers at the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, fully aware of their heavy tasks in developing the independent economy and improving the people’s standard of living, engage themselves in the project to expand fertilizer production capacity and other undertakings for carrying out the decisions of the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Such units as the February 8 Vinalon Complex and Sinuiju and Chongjin Chemical Fiber Mills make exertions to implement tasks for the first year of the five-year plan at an early date.
Workers in the electric power and coal industries go all out to attain their goals, overcoming difficulties in an indomitable spirit.
The Pukchang Thermal Power Complex and Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant put spurs to their struggle to carry out without fail this year’s electricity production plan while strictly observing technical rules and standard regulations.
The Suphung, Hochongang and Jangjingang Power Stations and others in the hydroelectric sector control the water in a scientific manner and intensify checkups in order to increase production.
Coal mines of the Tokchon Area Coal-mining Complex and Pukchang Area Youth Coal-mining Complex apply themselves to the drive for increased production in an effort to actively adopt advanced tunneling and mining methods and put their coal production on a normal track. Meanwhile, machine factories in the coal-mining industry make endeavors to provide coal mines with plenty of equipment, accessories and small tools.
The Taean Heavy Machine Complex, Ranam Coal-mining Machine Complex and other counterparts in the machine-building industry also strive to hit this year’s production target.
Suit is followed by the mining industry and forestry sector.
