U.S. Political Crisis is No More Than the Beginning

A year has elapsed since the occurrence of an incident involving violent demonstration and an intrusion into the U.S. Capitol building by demonstrators.

In 2001, outside terrorist forces attacked the U.S. Twenty years later, the world witnessed in astonishment the incomprehensible scene of the Americans themselves turning upon their own country.

When the incident occurred in the U.S. which has posed as a “model of democracy”, even the Western politicians vied with each other in their severe criticism in consternation that it is an “assault on democracy” and an “appalling scene of Washington”.

Chinese media commented that the enemy of democracy is the U.S. itself; it is only the beginning of the political crisis of the U.S.; the intrusion into the U.S. Capitol building substantiated the fact that the U.S. is by no means the model of world democracy.

The spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, citing the data that 64% of U.S. citizens admit that the democracy of U.S. is faced with the crisis and the danger of failure, pointed out on January 6 that the U.S. misuse of democracy as a brand/political means/weaponry would only reveal its ignominy of maintaining hegemony by means of false democracy.

Global Times also emphasized through its commentary that mankind’s flower garden of democracy will be ablaze with a riot of colour only when it rids itself of “hegemony of democracy”.

The U.S. should, as a matter of course, give an attentive ear to the voices of justice from the international society and put an immediate end to the acts of double standard perpetrated by usurping the signboard of “democracy.”
