Comrade Choe Son Hui, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), had talks with Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, at the Pyongyang Assembly Hall on May 26.
Comrade Choe Son Hui expressed the stand of the DPRK government to develop the long-standing friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Singapore in conformity with the aspirations and wishes of the peoples of the two countries.
Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan wished the Korean people greater success in their work for the prosperity of the country, saying that the government and people of Singapore hope that the friendly and cooperative relations with the DPRK would grow stronger.
During the talks they exchanged views on developing the bilateral relations in a multifaceted way by boosting exchange and cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries and on regional and international issues.
Present at the talks from the DPRK side were Vice-Minister Comrade Pak Sang Gil and other officials of the foreign ministry and Comrade Ri Kil Song, DPRK ambassador to Singapore, and the foreign minister’s entourage from the Singaporean side.
The DPRK foreign ministry gave a welcome reception in honor of the Singaporean foreign minister and his party in the evening.
