Historic Event that Opened up New Heyday of DPRK-Russia Relations

April 25, 2022 is a significant day marking the 3 rd anniversary of the first historic summit between Comrade Kim Jong Un , President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin of the Russian Federation.

Three years ago, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un met and held talks with President Putin in Vladivostok of the Russian Federation, formed good personal relations with him and also laid a cornerstone of further development of DPRK-Russia friendly ties with long-standing tradition and history as required by the new era.

Reached in the historic meeting and talks is the agreement to open up a new era of heyday of bilateral relations, and to promote strategic communication and tactical collaborations in the course of ensuring peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in the region.

The first visit of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to Russia demonstrated the strong bond of strategic and traditional value between the two countries, and it was of a historic event that served as a turning point in putting the friendly ties between the two countries onto a new higher stage.

After the historic Vladivostok DPRK-Russia summit, the long-standing relations of DPRK-Russia friendship are developing more vigorously thanks to the special care of the leaders of the two countries.

In spite of recent considerable trials and challenges caused by unexpected global health crisis, the DPRK and the Russian Federation have promoted strategic communications and expanded the range of high-level contact and cooperation in various fields including politics, the economy and culture. They have also maintained close collaborations of tactical significance in the international arena.

Today, the DPRK-Russia relations, even in the face of challenges and pressure of the U.S. and its vassal forces, continue to develop and strengthen in the common aspiration and interests of the two peoples, and are contributing to ensuring peace and security in the region and to establishing the international order based on independence and justice.

It is an invariable stand of the DPRK government to expand and develop in all fields the friendly and cooperative relations with Russia, our friend and friendly neighbor, according to the agreement reached at the historic DPRK-Russia summit meeting.

The tradition and history of the DPRK-Russia relations will be carried forward forever together with the precious successes achieved by the concerted efforts of the two peoples in their joint struggle to realize the genuine international justice and to safeguard peace.
