The respected Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, visited the State Emergency Anti-Epidemic Headquarters on May 12.

He was accompanied by Jo Yong Won and Pak Jong Chon, Members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Looking round the command rooms in the headquarters, Kim Jong Un examined the quarantine of a day after the state anti-epidemic work was transferred into the greatest emergency anti-epidemic system to cope with the prevailing situation of the anti-epidemic situation and learned about the nationwide spread.

Obscure febrile disease has been explosively spread and expanded on a nationwide scale since late April, producing more than 350,000 persons in a fever in a short time. Of them, over 162,200 were cured. He stressed once again the importance of the work in controlling the spread of the malignant virus that all the provinces, cities and counties across the country had to block themselves and provide the conveniences of the inhabitants to the utmost while tightly closing every unit for work, production and residence.

It is impossible to avoid passivity in the anti-epidemic work when we control and take measures according to the situation of spread in tiding over the present crisis in particular, he said and continued:

It is an urgent task for us to actively block the regions, take measures of isolating those in a fever and give medical treatment with responsibility and thus cut off the space of spread.

The public health and emergency anti-epidemic sectors should closely observe the specific features of the course of disease of those in a fever, follow up scientific treatment methods and tactics with a blitz as demanded by a special manual and further strengthen the state measures for supplying medicines.

Kim Jong Un put forward specific tasks for the emergency anti-epidemic units at all levels to raise the ability of operation and command over the anti-epidemic work in their regions and units, make full preparations for quickly coping with any situation and form forces properly to ensure promptness and scientific accuracy in the anti-epidemic work.

He said it is the most important challenge and supreme task for our Party to reverse the present public health crisis at an early date, recover the stability of the anti-epidemic work and safeguard the health and well-being of the people and clarified the decision, will, strategy and tactics of the Party Central Committee to victoriously lead the anti-epidemic war.

He expressed the expectation and belief that the officials of the State Emergency Anti-Epidemic Headquarters would be deeply conscious of the solemn sense of mission and responsibility given by the Party and the revolution and perfectly check and suppress the source of spread of the malignant disease with daring courage and action as demanded by the spirit of the eighth Politburo meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee and thus open up a breakthrough of victory in the anti-epidemic war in the van.
