China Strongly Warns U.S. not to Intervene in Taiwan Issue

Recently, the 19 th International Institute for Strategic Studies’ Asia Security Summit (2022 Shangri-La Dialogue) was held in Singapore.

At the summit, the U.S. and its vassal forces schemed to turn the summit into a theater of confrontation against China, picking up the Taiwan issue again.

State Councilor and Minister of National Defense of the PRC made a speech at the summit and clarified as follows:

The country’s reunification should be achieved at any cost as the peaceful reunification is the greatest desire of the Chinese people. If anyone dares to separate Taiwan from China, we will not hesitate to launch a war and fight to the bitter end at all costs.

Chinese “Global Times” issued a commentary that the PRC’s Minister of National Defense once again drew a red line in connection with the Taiwan issue and that his speech serves as a strong warning to the U.S. and its vassal forces which raise the issue of the Taiwan Strait.

The commentary pointed out that the U.S.-the very disturber of the peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait-is rather scheming to be involved more deeply in the Taiwan issue under the pretext of “safeguarding peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait”.

It continued to emphasize as follows:

The U.S. is always attacking continental China by using the catchphrases of “relations-based international order” and “opposing to unilateral change of the current situation in the Taiwan Strait”. The U.S. is not qualified to say such words. There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is a part of China and the People’s Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing China. This is the real situation of the Taiwan issue and no other situation exists except that.

Finally, it warned the U.S. to be discreet about its words and deeds with respect to the Taiwan issue, saying that the attempt to “contain China by using Taiwan” is no more than a war gamble and those who like playing with fire are destined to be burnt to death.
