‐ Military build-up is an independent right of the DPRK ‐

On the occasion of the June 25-July 27 Month of anti-U.S. Joint Struggle, voices of support are increasing among Asian countries for our self-defensive measures to further strengthen the national defense capability in the face of the persistent military threat from the U.S. and its undisguised hostile policy.

An enlarged meeting of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee for Supporting Peaceful Reunification of Korea held in early July adopted an appeal to the world progressive people.

The appeal pointed out that the instability on the Korean peninsula which has lasted more than half a century was caused by the anachronistic hostile policy of the U.S. towards the DPRK and its annual joint military drills.

It is common knowledge that the peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and in the Northeast region are firmly safeguarded by the DPRK with the globally acknowledged powerful self-defensive capability, it continued. It also appealed for absolute support and encouragement to the just measures taken by the DPRK in order to defend the independent right and dignity of the country and happiness of the people and to safeguard the peace and stability on the Korean peninsula.

In conclusion, it expressed the conviction that the progressive people who aspire after a free, thriving and peaceful new world will send strong support to and solidarity with the righteous cause of the Korean people.

Vice chief of the Department of International Affairs, Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre), in the speech delivered at a solidarity meeting, said as follows:

Historically, Korea has never invaded any other country. However, the U.S. and the West are persistently threatening the DPRK both militarily and economically to abandon missiles and nukes which have been developed to defend itself. I absolutely support the DPRK in all its measures taken to achieve secure development and prosperity of the country and to safeguard the security of the motherland, nation and people.

Many political and social personages from Asian countries including Deputy of International Affairs of the Islamic Motalefeh Party of Iran, chairperson of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Bangladesh and vice chairperson of the Study Forum for Self-Reliance of Sri Lanka also said that the DPRK’s step for bolstering up the self-defensive military capability is an independent right of a sovereign state and a just measure to safeguard the security of the country and the life security of people against the threat from the U.S. and that they extend full support to the Korean people in their struggle.

The voices of justice raised from the Asian progressive organizations, personages of all strata and the media on the occasion of the June 25-July 27 Month of anti-U.S. Joint Struggle fully expose the true nature of the U.S. as a wrecker of the peace and stability of the Korean peninsula.

The U.S. can never conceal its true colors as the incendiary of the Korean war and the wrecker of peace. The more it persistently clings to its anachronistic hostile policy towards the DPRK, the stronger the international criticism, protest and denunciation it will face.
