The Onpho Standing Rock is located in Kyongsong County, North Hamgyong Province.
The granite rock, which rose up by tectonic motion and was exposed by erosion, looks curious and soars high, thus it is called Standing Rock.
Mts Samgak and Kongga, consisting of Tanchon complex formed in Mesozoic Age, rise near this rock, and the Onpho Stream meanders around it, adding more to the landscape of the area.
The height of the monolithic is 33 metres with its base 16 metres around.
Looking as if six plain rocks piled up one after another, it is designated as a natural monument for its academic value.
