Celebratory events took place in different countries to mark the 74 th founding anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).
Celebration meetings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows were held in Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Romania, Belarus, Switzerland, Austria, France, Senegal and Peru.
Screened at the film shows were videos dealing with the history of the DPRK and the development of Pyongyang.
Speeches were made at the events.
A Nepali senator, the chairman of the Nepali Literary Forum for the Study of Songun Politics, the chairperson of the Nepal Study Center for Korea’s Independent Policy and the secretary general of the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association noted that President Kim Il Sung liberated Korea from the colonial yoke of the Japanese imperialists, created a myth of great war victory and built a socialist society where the people became its masters and Chairman Kim Jong Il defended the Korean-style socialism with Songun, stressing that their exploits would shine forever century after century.
The chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Bangladesh National Socialist Party and the chairman of the Bangladesh-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Committee said that the DPRK has demonstrated to the whole world its might as a powerful country independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence under the leadership of H.E. Kim Jong Un .
They added that the DPRK would successfully accomplish the cause of building a powerful socialist country as it is guided by the prominent leader.
The secretary general of the Romania-Korea Friendship Association said that the DPRK serves as the beacon of hope for the progressive mankind.
Personages of the Communist Party of Belarus, the Switzerland-Korea Committee, the Society for the Promotion of the Relations between Austria and DPRK, a publishing house in Myanmar and the Kim Jong Suk Library of Peru lauded the exploits performed by the President and the Chairman in founding and developing the DPRK.
They hoped that the DPRK, a socialist fortress, would achieve greater successes in all fields under the leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un .
Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Un were adopted at the events in Nepal and Switzerland.
