All the Korean people cherished a philosophy during the 90-odd-day anti-epidemic campaign waged from early May to early August.

The philosophy is that thanks to the Workers’ Party of Korea that fights for the interests of the people by believing in and relying on them, the lives and life of all people on this land are guaranteed forever.

The recent great anti-epidemic war more clearly highlighted the nature of the Party of the people which was born and exists for them and which shares destiny with them.

Love for the people is not expressed by any lines on textbooks or slogans. It proves genuine or false at the hardest time.

The Workers’ Party of Korea organized and waged a well-timed campaign to defend the lives and safety of the people in the recent anti-epidemic crisis which can be said to be a great turmoil in the history of the DPRK.

The national epidemic prevention system was immediately switched to the top emergency anti-epidemic system and all kinds of measures were imposed to run state affairs smoothly by setting up a proper system of work in all sectors and units accordingly. Steps were taken to tap medicine reserves which the Party and government built up in anticipation of emergency and to supply medicines to the people in time by dispatching to the anti-epidemic front the medics of the Korean People’s Army in charge of national defence.

The sincere love of the Party for the people could be felt also through the struggle to minimize the inconvenience and anguish the people would suffer under the condition of intensive blockade.

Over 8 000 outreach service teams were organized across the country and more than 30 000 volunteers took part in supplying food, medicines and daily necessities to residents on the spot to positively promote conveniences in their life.

Fever cases were identified and disease screening and medical check-ups were conducted covering all the residents every day and quarantine and treatment were correctly enforced based on the people-oriented and advanced medical service systems like the section doctor system, first-aid service system and telemedicine system.

Combatants of the medical sector of the Korean People’s Army, who were seconded to the front line of the emergency anti-epidemic campaign in the capital city by the special order of the Party Central Military Commission, devoted all their sincerity to the treatment of residents as they ate and slept on the spot and over 2 400 former health workers volunteered to provide medical service during the top emergency anti-epidemic period.

The Party Central Committee demands officials get closer to the people with deeper intimacy in hard times so as to become the prop they trust and rely on at any time.

Burning love produces great miracles.

The correct policies the Party and the state enforced during the anti-epidemic war and the ideological identity of all the people who positively turned out in the combat against the malignant infectious disease enabled the DPRK to control and manage the nationwide situation of the spread of the epidemic and bring this land back to a clean virus-free area in such a short period, an event to be specially recorded in the world public health history.
