Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, received a message of greetings from Bashar Al-Assad, president of the Syrian Arab Republic, on October 5.
In the message, the Syrian President extended his heartfelt warmest congratulations to Kim Jong Un and, through him, to the WPK Central Committee, all the Party members and the people of the DPRK, on the occasion of the 77th founding anniversary of the WPK, wishing the great WPK development and successes all the time.
He noted that over the past decades the WPK has led the Korean people’s struggle for building a power, remaining unfazed by all sorts of difficulties and challenges, consolidating the national independence and adhering to the socialist principles, and thus glorified its Eighth Congress as a congress of victory.
Saying that today the world is undergoing an unprecedentedly great change, he declared that Syria would continue to strive to promote the interests of the peoples of the two countries by further consolidating and developing the bilateral relations with the DPRK and make a positive contribution to the global peace, stability and development.
