The 2022 autumn aesthetic symposium of the urban management sector took place at the People’s Palace of Culture in Pyongyang on November 23-24.
The theme of the symposium is “Landscaping is a high-degree formative art”.
At the symposium attended by relevant officials, scientists, technicians and lecturers there were screenings of videos on landscaped spots, including the Pothong riverside park built as a model and standard of landscaping, and on landscaping technology data.
Speeches were made by Kim Myong Ho, vice-minister of Urban Management who is also the director of the landscaping and greening management bureau, Kang Kwon Il, director general of the State General Designing Bureau, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Jang Kyong Su, director of the Central Industrial Design Administration, Hong Kyong Il, director of the illuminations management bureau, and Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee.
They analysed and reviewed the successes, experiences and mistakes in their past work for landscaping and expressed their determination to create Korean-style landscaping with fresh insights and in an innovative way.
