Condolatory Visit to Chinese Embassy

Officials of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, the Cabinet of the DPRK and armed forces organs, ministries and national institutions paid a visit to the Chinese embassy in the DPRK on Friday to express the condolence over the death of Jiang Zemin, former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President of the People’s Republic of China.

Among the visitors were Ri Il Hwan, Secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kang Yun Sok, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, Kim Song Ryong, Vice-Premier of the Cabinet, Mun Song Hyok, Vice Department Director of the WPK Central Committee, Army Lieutenant General Kim Min Sop, Vice-Minister of National Defense, Pak Myong Ho, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kim In Chol, Vice-Minister of Public Security, Pak Kyong Il, Vice-Chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, and Hong Kum Chol, Vice-Chairman of the Pyongyang City People’s Committee.

A wreath in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK was laid before the photo of Jiang Zemin.

Also laid there were wreaths in the names of the Ministry of National Defense, the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Public Security, the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Pyongyang City People’s Committee.

The participants paid silent tribute to the memory of Jiang Zemin who contributed to the socialist construction of China and the development of the traditional DPRK-China friendship.

Ri Il Hwan made an entry in the condolence book.
