February 8, 1948 is a meaningful day when President Kim Il Sung proclaimed to the whole world the foundation of Korean People’s Army (KPA) – the first regular revolutionary armed forces in our country.

The 75-year-long history of the heroic KPA that inherited the great tradition of the anti-Japanese struggle is full of pride recorded only with victory and glory under the leadership of the brilliant commanders.

President Kim Il Sung founded the Juche-oriented revolutionary armed forces – the KPA within a short period of less than three years after the liberation with his outstanding army-building ideas and energetic leadership. By doing so, he laid a strong military foundation that ensures the independent development of the country and vigorous advance of the revolution.

With his outstanding military strategies and tactics, President Kim Il Sung frustrated the armed aggression by the U.S. and the allied imperialist forces that attempted to swallow up our young Republic in its infancy and achieved a great victory, creating a legend of victory in war which marked the beginning of decline of the U.S. who boasted of being the “strongest” in the world.

Whenever a touch-and-go situation was created in our country, which was led to the brink of war due to the U.S. imperialists’ war provocations, President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il wisely led the KPA to smash the enemy’s maneuvers at every step with his outstanding military stratagem, thus firmly defending the sovereignty and dignity of the fatherland.

During the grim period when we had to fight against the allied imperialist forces of the world without any flank or backing, Chairman Kim Jong Il further strengthened and developed the KPA into invincible revolutionary forces and brought victory after victory in the struggle to defend socialism by his Songun revolutionary leadership.

Today the KPA holds in high esteem respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , the peerless brilliant commander and is fully displaying its dignity as an invincible army while increasing its immense and absolute power hundredfold.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un put forth the idea that the KPA should be further strengthened as strong revolutionary armed forces advancing under the uplifted banner of modeling the whole army on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and as an army which wins by dint of ideology, is strong both politically and ideologically and stands on a moral high ground. And he has developed the KPA into an invincible revolutionary army armed with our Party’s Juche-oriented military idea and tactics.

Thanks to his outstanding leadership, the KPA has fully displayed its might as an invincible army equipped with mighty Juche weapons that make the enemy shudder with fear and as the world strongest armed forces possessed of formidable strike power and overwhelming military strength that can surely overpower all sorts of tyranny of the imperialists.

All the people in this world hope to live a dignified life in a powerful country.

But such hope cannot be fulfilled by itself. Only a great leader who leads the state and people with gifted military wisdom and stratagem, and steel-strong courage can make this hope come true.

So, numerous foreign friends are highly praising the DPRK saying that it has now proudly secured the position as a nuclear power recognized by the world under the leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .

Under the outstanding and seasoned leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un – the greatest-ever commander- the KPA will always achieve only victory and glory, adding luster to its proud history and tradition in the future, too.
