At the foot of the picturesque Mt. Taesong in Pyongyang, there is the Central Zoo, a leisure complex which adds to the laughter, delight and romance of our people and young students.

This newly-refurbished world-class Central Zoo is also permeated with the fervent love of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who devotes his heart and soul for our people and posterity.

After putting forward the task of refurbishing the Central Zoo which had been built for our people by the President and the Chairman, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Central Zoo again on March 11, 2014 when the reconstruction was at its height.

Looking around the dusty compound for a long time, he taught that the road pavement of the compound should be done properly and that they should refer to the data on zoos of other countries sent by himself in designs for reconstruction. He also  selected the site to build the Nature Museum.

Saying that the stuffed specimens to be exhibited in the Nature Museum should be made at a high level, he taught that they should develop the skills of making stuffed specimens.

He also took the measure to provide necessary reagents and materials for its making.

He then taught them that the Central Zoo should be built not only as the center of our people’s leisure complex but also as a learning place which gives practical knowledge to young students. On this day, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said warmly that the Central Zoo is a legacy and valuable asset left by the President and the Chairman for our people and that it is his decision to refurbish it as the best zoo in Asia and as a world-class zoo.

Henceforth, he has given several rounds of field guidance to the reconstruction and gave more than 150 teachings. Such a warm hand of his guidance made it possible for our people to see a flawless zoo.

Thanks to the benevolent guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , the Central Zoo has been wonderfully refurbished in July 2016. Since then, this has been visited not only by our people and young students but also by numerous foreign guests.

After visiting the shed of reptiles in the wonderfully transformed Central Zoo, the director of the Skansen Zoo of Sweden expressed his excited feeling to the following effect.

“I have visited many sheds of reptiles of many other countries but this one in the Central Zoo is the best among those I have ever seen. I have heard that this has been all taught by the leader Kim Jong Un . It is really peculiar. When I heard the news on the refurbishment of the zoo, I believed I would see this kind of ecstasy. The reality of the Central Zoo is a miracle which can be worked out only by the people–loving policy of the leader Kim Jong Un who wishes to provide the people with better leisure complex. ”

The Central Zoo, which underwent wonderful transformation thanks to the guidance of love by the respected Comrad e Kim Jong Un who spares nothing for people, still resonates with the happy laughter of our people and young people.
