Memorial tree-planting took place on March 14 on the occasion of Tree-planting Day.

Cadres of the Party and the government and other officials and working people across the country planted trees.

They planted trees with clear conscience and sincerity to further spruce up the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il are preserved in their lifetime appearance and other historic places associated with the immortal revolutionary exploits of the peerlessly great men.

Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and chairman of the Standing Committee of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly, and other officials of the SPA Standing Committee planted trees of good species in the arboretum of the Central Botanical Garden.

Officials of the Party Central Committee planted trees on Mt Hwasong where the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un planted trees together with the participants in the Second Conference of Secretaries of Primary Committees of the WPK in March last year.

Working people’s organizations participated in the tree-planting.

Officials of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriot Youth League and other officials and members of the youth league organizations in the capital city of Pyongyang planted many trees around the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace.

Officials of the central committees of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea planted trees in the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Site and the Oun Revolutionary Site.

Officials of committees, ministries and national agencies planted trees in the Munsubong Revolutionary Site and around the Monument to Party Founding.

Officials and working people in districts, counties and industrial establishments in Pyongyang planted trees of good species in streets, villages and workplaces, with a will to increase natural resources of the country and facelift the appearance of the country.

Officials and working people in South Phyongan, South Hwanghae and other provinces planted trees around the statues of the peerlessly great men, revolutionary battle sites, revolutionary sites and cemeteries of the fallen soldiers of the Korean People’s Army in their residential districts.

Those of the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm in South Hamgyong Province and the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm under the North Hamgyong Provincial Rural Economy Committee planted trees, keenly feeling once again the warm affection of the motherly Party.

Officials and working people at tree nurseries across the country, including the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Urban Management, and the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery successfully ensured the tree planting by fully producing saplings.
