We are able to know well about the fact through the law on labor protection of the DPRK fully guaranteeing the health and security of the working people.

Our country has always prioritized the labor protection and spared nothing for the health and life of the workers.

In the difficult times after the liberation of the country President Kim Il Sung visited the Ball Iron Workshop of the then Songjin Steel Plant and stressed the need to remove the workshop because the lives of our workers could never be exchanged for the steel although it was very valuable. His instruction serves as the precious guideline to be maintained in the work for labor protection even now.

The mission of the law on labor protection of the DPRK is to strictly establish the system and order in the work for labor protection in order to provide the working people with safe, cultural and sanitary labor conditions and contribute to positively protecting and improving their lives and health.

One of the important issues in the work for labor protection is to properly establish the system of education in work safety and regularly conduct the education among the working people.

According to the principles of the education in work safety clarified in the law on labor protection, newcomers should start their work after receiving the education in work safety and there are rooms for the education in work safety in every work place and are labor security workers to fully guarantee labor security of the working people.

In the field of construction they should strictly establish the labor security discipline before anything else to fully protect the valuable lives of the builders.

Every article of the law on labor protection reflects our Party’s policies on prioritizing the health and security of life of the working people before production and construction and subordinating everything to it.

The law on labor protection generally clarifies the principles maintained by the state in the work for labor protection such as the contents that organs, enterprises and units should steadily improve labor security environment for safe, cultural and sanitary labor and equip labor security facilities to prevent accidents.

There are contents on providing materials for labor protection and banning female working people from hard and dangerous labor.

The law on labor protection also stipulates that relevant organs, enterprises and units should have hostels, mess rooms, nurseries, kindergartens and other public service facilities and regularly operate them.

There are palace-like workers’ hostels, nurseries and kindergartens in work places across the country. They are unthinkable without the popular law on labor protection.

The law on labor protection and worthwhile labor life show the superiority of our socialist system centered on the popular masses.
