Several years ago, Jon Hyang Gi, graduate from Sariwon Teachers Training College, volunteered to work at Jangphung Primary School in a remote mountain village in Jangphung County, Kaesong City.
One day, the girl received a phone call from her mother living in the City of Sariwon, who informed her of the fact that a few days ago, Pak Mun Chol, teacher in charge of her class in the college, visited her house again with daily necessaries, inquired about her health conditions and promised he would be a frequent visitor.
The girl recalled her unforgettable college days.
A little after she entered the college, she suddenly lost her father. At that time, her teachers began to take parental care of her.
One day when she felt sorry for that, Pak Mun Chol said that they were all one family and the same kith and kin.
Thanks to the benevolent socialist system, she learned to her heart’s content and decided to volunteer to be a teacher at a school in a remote mountain village with a single mind to repay its favour even a bit.
At that time, her teachers presented her lots of school fixtures and daily necessities.
Later, too, Pak and his colleagues frequently sent her reference books for teaching and warmly welcomed her whenever she visited her alma mater.
The feelings of kinship between them grew warmer with the passage of time, and she has brought about many achievements in education over the past few years.
Jon is devoting her all to education of the rising generations, cherishing the feelings of affection between a teacher and a disciple.
