"Aeguk" grass is a feed crop which is extensively cultivated in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Its unit-area yield is several times higher than the feed crops widely known from long ago. It is a high-yielding variety that completely changed the existing conception of feed crop.
On August 12, Juche 104(2015) the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited Farm No. 1116 which succeeded in the experimental cultivation of a feed crop.
He said he was so pleased to hear the report of a feed grass cultivated at the farm on a trial basis that he came there. Stepping into a field, he looked at the tall feed crop time and again.
He said it is a remarkable success that the farm succeeded in the experimental cultivation of the feed crop with high nutritive value and yield and named the crop "Aeguk" grass.
After learning in detail about the sitological features of the "Aeguk" grass and its cultivation method, he said the "Aeguk" grass is a feed crop of great significance in developing the animal husbandry.
That day, he stressed the need to widely spread the "Aeguk" grass throughout the country and gave specific instructions on it.
As said above, Kim Jong Un walked on and on along the field paths regardless of the sultry weather in order to improve the people's diet.
The "Aeguk" grass has been spread across the country, making a great contribution to the development of animal husbandry.
