The DPRK, a great country whose name included "people" at the time of its founding for the first time in the history of the nation spanning 5 000 years and which has vigorously advanced towards a new victory and prosperity, paving a broad avenue for building a rich country with strong army under the noble idea of believing in the people as in Heaven and the unfurled banner of independent politics, self-supporting economy and self-reliant national defence, has greeted its 75th founding anniversary.

The people of the DPRK have brought the dignity and honor of their country, the world's only politico-ideological power and the strongest military power, to the peak of the century with the tremendous strength stemming from their firm single-minded unity under the leadership of the ever-victorious Workers' Party of Korea. Shining in the biography of such heroic people's great struggle, victories, gigantic creation and revolution is the militant course of the Juche-oriented paramilitary forces that have firmly supported the prosperity of the country with rifle in one hand and sickle, hammer and pen in the other.

A paramilitary parade took place with splendor at Kim Il Sung Square in the capital city of Pyongyang on September 8 to celebrate the 75th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

The square, where the parade of the paramilitary forces which have performed feats in accomplishing the sacred cause of founding and developing the DPRK would take place, was full of excitement and joy of the spectators significantly celebrating the birthday of their great powerful country.

Ace air sportspersons dropped in group displaying peculiar skills while flying the national flag of the DPRK in the night sky above Pyongyang, adding to the festive mood.

An air squadron, in formation depicting the number "75", made congratulatory flight, letting off fireworks, to represent the history of the great country.

Then followed a performance of a combined military band playing military music.

With the joy of the day when the birth of an independent and sovereign state was announced to the whole world with the playing of the solemn national anthem reflecting the will of the people to outpace the whole world with the unity in their strong truth-based intention, the bandsmen represented with live melody and dynamic rhythm the nation-building history of Juche Korea which has demonstrated its might as the country of miracles and heroes for a long time, and members of the Korean People's Army guard of honor demonstrated their great rifle-handling skills.

The columns of paramilitary paraders entered the square reflecting the strength of the great power and the spirit of the brave people dashing toward the bright future by making rapid leaps forward along the road of prosperity by dint of self-reliance.

The paramilitary forces of the DPRK, the revolutionary armed force of the Party and the guards of the DPRK government, have developed into a reliable wing of the People's Army, the backbone of national defence, and into the pivotal force for the defence of the rear and home towns, under the leadership of the WPK to successfully fulfill its honorable mission and duty of defending the country and building socialism and make a great contribution to consolidating the all-people and nationwide defence system.

Every column of paraders was filled with a strong will to make achievements in every workplace of creation and construction with hammers, sickles and pens in their hands in peacetime and to hold arms in contingency to mercilessly punish and annihilate the enemies.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un observed the paramilitary parade for celebrating the 75th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

Amid the playing of welcome music, he appeared at the tribune of the parade square.

All the participants raised stormy cheers of "Hurrah!", looking up to him who has put the national power and the prestige of the country on the highest level ever in the history of the nation and translated into reality the long-cherished desire for building a powerful country with his outstanding nation-building idea, tested leadership ability and tireless devotion.

Kim Jong Un warmly waved back to the enthusiastically cheering paraders and participants in the celebrations.

Taking the tribune were Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, to be followed by other leading officials of the Party and the government.

Kim Jong Un and his respected daughter, together with Marshal Ri Pyong Chol, Marshal Pak Jong Chon and commanding officers of the military, took the reserved seats for VIPs.

Kim Jong Un and senior officials of the Party and the government were presented with bouquets by lovely children.

Veteran cadres who had worked for a long time in the Party and the government took the tribune.

Invited to watch the parade were the Chinese party and government delegation led by Liu Guozhong, vice-premier of the State Council of China, and members of the Russian Army Academic Song and Dance Ensemble Named after Alexandrov who are on a visit to the DPRK to celebrate the 75th birthday of the DPRK, and diplomatic envoys of China and Russia in Pyongyang.

The reserved seats were taken by the participants in the celebrations of the 75th DPRK birthday.

A ceremony for hoisting the national flag of the DPRK was solemnly held.

Holding up the national flag of the DPRK, members of the KPA honor guard, escorted by the guard of the national flag, entered the square full of joy of the people significantly celebrating the 75th birthday of their glorious country.

The sacred national flag of the DPRK shining as a symbol of justice and invincibility was hoisted slowly amid the solemn playing of the national anthem of the DPRK.

All the participants paid the highest tribute to the national flag of the DPRK, the dignified state.

Fireworks were let off to fill the square of parade with excitement and joy, along with a surge of the unshakable will of all the people to ardently love and glorify forever the socialist country, which has always emerged victorious supported by their desire and power since it was built true to their intention.

A 21-gun salute was fired amid the playing of the song "The Glorious Country".

Then followed a review of the preparations for the parade.

O Il Jong, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, reviewed the parade units which lined up to be inspected for the preparations of the paramilitary parade for celebrating the 75th birthday of the DPRK.

O Il Jong courteously reported to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un that the paramilitary parade for celebrating the 75th birthday of the DPRK was ready.

The grand parade of the paramilitary force, a powerful combat force spurring the thorough preparations for all-people resistance after constituting the two pillars of the armed forces of the DPRK together with the People's Army, began.

Entering the square first was the column of the division of the capital city Party members, the powerful hard core of the WPK, who have fully displayed the might of the special detachment in the forefront for defending the people as befitting the loyal guards standing closest to the Party Central Committee to safeguard the supreme general staff of the Korean revolution.

Following the column of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards (WPRG) of Pyongyang Municipality, the column of the WPRG of North Phyongan Province standing guard over the western border gateway of the country, and the column of the WPRG of South Phyongan Province, a satellite province defending the capital city of Pyongyang, marched past the square grandly, holding aloft the red flags.

The columns of the WPRG of North and South Hwanghae provinces, the outpost soldiers' units of the agricultural front playing the primary role in upholding the intention of the Party Central Committee which set the goal of grain production as the first of the 12 major goals for national economic development, went past the square.

They were followed by the columns of the WPRG in Jagang and Kangwon provinces, which marched past the square with the great pride of being the creators of the spirit of the era who became the beacon and cornerstone of the country's advance and leaps forward with the spirit of self-reliance and fortitude, eloquently proving how the revolutionary cause was defended and how the idea and line of the WPK preserved in the tempest of history.

Holding their invincible arms reflecting the appearance of the country getting stronger with the passage of time, the columns of the WPRG units in North and South Hamgyong provinces defending the nation's leading industrial complexes, those standing guard in Ryanggang Province like a strong fortress for protecting the sacred place of the revolution, the area of Paektu, and those of all municipalities under central authority marched past the square full of invincible spirit.

Spectators on the platform extended militant salute to the columns marching with a single fervent desire to fully discharge their sacred mission and duty on the two fronts of national defence and socialist construction with the pride, confidence, optimism and courage unique to the defenders of a great power dynamically advancing under the uplifted banner of socialism, and to emerge victorious by displaying the heroic spirit and mettle of the WPRG prepared as a match-for-a-hundred force when the time for a great war for national reunification comes.

The paraders chanted "Hurrah!" at the top of their voices as a token of their highest tribute to the great Party Central Committee which is ushering in a new heyday of strengthening the WPRG with its profound military theoretical wisdom and energetic leadership after setting a goal of raising the military technical might of the WPRG to the level of the People's Army in conformity with the characteristics of modern warfare and the actual conditions of the country.

The columns of the WPRG units of Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology, which have glorified their proud history and traditions of regarding loyalty to the Party and the leader as their lifeblood generation after generation, being renowned as the highest seat of Juche-oriented education and model universities for training revolutionary talents, marched past the square fully demonstrating the might of the units of warriors dashing through thick and thin in response to a call to arms by the Party.

They were followed by the columns of the WPRG units of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex, which are standing guard in the metal and chemical industrial sectors, the twin pillars of the self-supporting economy, and of those in other key industrial sectors making joint innovations and boosting production to hit the main target of economic construction and the major thrust of the campaign for implementing the decisions of the 8th Party Congress.

The columns of the WPRG members of the Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Textile Mill and the Wonhwa Farm of Phyongwon County, who are renowned as innovators and bumper-harvest farmers when they work at their factory and farm, and become crack shots when they hold arms to contribute to labor and national defence, marched past the square representing the validity and vitality of the Party's Juche-oriented idea of building the militia forces.

Then the column of the WPRG unit of the State Academy of Sciences, a large contingent of scientists taking the lead in the drive for achieving the self-reliant prosperity by dint of science and technology appeared on the square, which was followed by the columns of the WPRG units of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports and the Ministry of Public Health which demonstrated their single patriotic will to devote all their wisdom, sweat and passion to ushering in a heyday of socialist culture.

The column of the Young Red Guards, cherishing the noble soul of the anti-Japanese Children's Vanguard and the wartime children's guerrillas, marched past the square in high spirit, filled with a steel-strong determination to firmly defend their campus and beloved home towns and villages.

Spectators on the platform warmly encouraged the paraders who were demonstrating to the world the great vitality of the line of putting all the people under arms and the powerful entity of the all-people defence system, which can never be found in any other part of the planet.

The square was rocked by the chants of slogans of faith and will made by the paraders in reflection of their pledge to always hold in high esteem Kim Jong Un, a world-famous peerless brilliant commander with matchless courage and pluck and great leader who is opening up the bright future of the country, paving a broad avenue toward victory and prosperity with his warm love and trust in the people.

Mechanized columns of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards launched their advance, fully demonstrating the might of a great country, where all the people hold arms to thoroughly implement the Party's military line for self-defence, and the whole of which has turned into an impregnable fortress.

The columns of motorcycles with high mobility, anti-tank missile launchers towed by tractors playing the leading role in the mechanization of farm work in the socialist countryside, anti-aircraft artillery pieces which built iron protective walls in the sky above every village and workplace, and the multiple rocket launchers in camouflage demonstrating the combat capabilities of the WPRG, roared past the square with full readiness to deal merciless blows at the aggressors.

The mechanized columns demonstrated to the world that the greatness of the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK lies in the fact that it has not only matchless regular army but also powerful militia forces capable of fighting any military operation and battle in modern warfare independently.

All the participants paid the highest glory and warmest thanks to Kim Jong Un, peerless patriot and ever-victorious iron-willed commander, who brought about the strongest national defence capabilities, for which no hostile forces dares to provoke, and thus provided an eternal guarantee for genuine peace and eternal victory and prosperity of posterity.

At the end of the parade, fireworks and balloons were displayed again and cheers of "Hurrah!" resounded far and wide.
