The Democratic People's Republic of Korea puts great efforts into developing efficacious Koryo medicines that suit the constitution of the people.
These days, the Jangmyong High-Tech Medical Supplies Development and Exchange Centre of the Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences is further improving the quality of Koryo medicines by introducing new extraction methods.
Researcher Ko Chung Hyok says:
"It is an important work we should do to put the Koryo medicines on a higher scientific footing and develop them as demanded by the developing reality for raising their efficacy, I think.
So I have made researches into Koryo medicines used for the treatment of cerebrovascular disorders and developed Angongwuhuang injection."
Ko Chung Hyok has been working as a researcher at the centre for over 10 years.
He has devoted his all to the research for making extracts of Koryo medicines.
He spent numerous days and nights to overcome the limitations found in the course of using Koryo medicines while retaining their excellent features.
In those days he invented several techniques conducive to the production of Koryo medicines including a new refining method. Those techniques made it possible to double the productivity and efficacy of Koryo medicines.
The recently-developed Angongwuhuang injection is also popular among people for its high pharmacological and curative effects.
The Koryo medicine production methods invented by Ko Chung Hyok drew attention of pharmaceutical experts as they are good techniques which can be introduced into the Koryo medicine producers across the country according their actual conditions.
Ko Chung Hyok says:
"I am going to intensify the researches into not only medicines for the treatment of cerebrovascular disorders, but also Koryo medicines that can be used for curing metabolic disorders such as diabetes."
Ko Chung Hyok is still making constant efforts to develop a larger number of efficacious Koryo medicines badly needed for the improvement of the people's health.
