Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of the agricultural sector in South and North Phyongan Provinces.
He learned in detail about the harvesting and threshing in a number of counties including Phyongwon, Sukchon, Ryongchon, Yomju and Sonchon Counties and touched on maximizing the operating rate of the combines and doing all the farm work methodically and thus reaping all the grains cultivated with much effort.
He pointed out that since several farming processes are carried on at the same time, it is necessary to organize manpower for winter wheat and barley sowing rationally and give good technical guidance to finish it qualitatively in the right time.
He also stressed the need to make full preparations for next year's irrigation projects and increase the high spirit of the masses in a methodological way.
He emphasized that the provinces, cities and counties should correctly implement the state cereals policy and take timely measures to enhance the grain-processing capacity of the food administration stations.
