First Workshop of Chairpersons of Provincial, City and County People's Committees held

The First Workshop of Chairpersons of Provincial, City and County People's Committees was held in the conference hall of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea between September 29 and October 2.
Present at the workshop were the chairpersons of the Provincial, City and County People's Committees, directors of the Administration Departments of the Provincial People's Committees and officials of the Secretariat of the Cabinet.
An opening address was made by Jo Yong Won, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Secretary for Organizational Affairs of the Party Central Committee.
At the workshop there were intensive lectures and practical study on the principles and methodological issues to be maintained and implemented by the chairpersons of the People's Committees in planning, organizing and commanding the work of power organs and the overall affairs of the economy and culture in the regions concerned according to the intention of the Party and the demand of the new era when the local areas are changed.
The lectures were given by Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea; Ri Il Hwan, Kim Jae Ryong and O Su Yong, Secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK; Ri Hi Yong, First Deputy Department Director of the Party Central Committee; and Kim Kum Chol, Secretary of the Cabinet.
The lectures dealt with an issue that the chairpersons of the Provincial, City and County People's Committees should fundamentally improve their attitude toward work and working manner, conscious of their heavy mission and duty for the regional bases of the country, the strategic bulwark of socialist construction.
During the workshop, the participants summed up in depth the study for improving their political and practical qualifications, studied the immortal history of revolutionary activities of the peerlessly great men Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un through their photographs, enjoyed a film and a drama on making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people, and conducted other political and cultural activities.
