Eight years ago, Mirae Scientists Street was built along the banks of the Taedong River in Pyongyang in a matter of one year.

The residents of the new street with thousands of flats and over 150 public amenities are educators and scientists.

The Workers’ Party of Korea, which puts forward the development of science and technology as the most important state affair and plans to bring earlier the rosy future of socialism by dint of science, saw that the street was built on the picturesque riverbank in the capital city on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the WPK, and gave all the flats to educators and scientists.

Over the past 10-odd years, many new residential areas and streets have been built for educators and scientists, including Mirae Scientists Street, Unha Scientists Street, Wisong Scientists Residential District and apartment houses for lecturers of Kim Il Sung University. And the Yonphung Scientists Holiday Camp was built for the scientists of the State Academy of Sciences on the scenic shore of Lake Yonphung.

In particular, all these construction projects for educators and scientists were completed under the great care and energetic guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

He examined the blueprints and layouts of the projects one by one and took every possible measure to provide the educators and scientists with the best living conditions lest they suffer any slight inconvenience. He also gave field guidance at the construction sites, braving dreadful weathers.

As they received the luxury flats they had never dreamed of, the educators and scientists voiced their heartfelt gratitude, saying that though there is no border in science, the Korean scientists have the socialist motherland, the bosom of great love, which they cannot leave even for a moment.

Love is bound to be rewarded.

Im Song Jin, section chief of the optoelectronics institute of the Physics Faculty who lives in one of the apartment houses for lecturers of Kim Il Sung University, became a professor with great educational and scientific research achievements, won the February 16 Science and Technology Prize twice together with his research team and was selected as one of the top scientists of the country in 2020.

Kim In Gyu, section chief of the Metal Engineering Faculty of Kim Chaek University of Technology living in Mirae Scientists Street, is also leading a worthwhile life as a Labour Hero and professor with his distinguished research hits.

Kim Kwang Hyon, professor, PhD and researcher at the Physics Institute of the State Academy of Sciences living in Unha Scientists Street, is a young member of the world academy of sciences, who astonished the international scientific circles and exalted the honour of the country with his excellent research findings.
