Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated youths across the country on the occasion of youth day (May 4).
He referred to the fact that young men and women have become pioneers and pillars in different fields including sci-tech innovation, development of rural villages and green development in the new journey of the new era true to the call of the Communist Party of China and people.
Saying that this year is the one marking the 75th anniversary of the founding of new China and the 105th anniversary of the May 4 Movement, he stressed that broad sections of young people should constantly advance following the party, become excellent youth in the new era and dedicate their strength to pushing ahead the cause of the building of a powerful country and national rejuvenation.
He called on party organizations at all levels to strengthen their guidance on youth affairs, pay attention to the growth of young people and give support for them to perform feats.
The Communist Youth League should shoulder the mission and duty given by the party in the new journey of the new era, carry forward and display the tradition and rally broad sections of young people so that they steadily exert themselves for the cause of the party and people, he stressed.
