The Workers' Party of Korea regards the people-first principle as its fundamental idea and struggles to realize the dignity and independent rights of the people and their dreams and ideals.
There are numerous parties in the world, but only the WPK regards the people-first principle as its fundamental idea.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK, has regarded the people-first principle as an iron rule and fundamental idea of Party building and activities since the initial period of leading the Party.
The Seventh Congress of the WPK took place in May Juche 105(2016).
In his historic report to the congress, Kim Jong Un stressed the need to applythe people-first principle thoroughly in all aspects of the Party work, and said that applying the people-first principle is the intrinsic demand of our Party which is struggling for the sake of the masses of the people and conducting its activities by relying on them.
He added that theclimate of believing in the strength of the people and depending on them shouldpervade the whole Party, and the main thrust of the Party work should be directed to promoting the people’s well-being.
Noting that strengthening the Party is aimed in the long run at making the country rich and powerfuland the people happiest in the world, he presented the slogan "Let the whole Party make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the great people!" to be held high by our Party.
It shows his unshakable faith and will to further strengthen and develop the WPK into a revolutionary party working for the sake of the popular masses and conducting its activities by relying on them.
At the Eighth Congress of the WPK held in January Juche 110(2021), Kim Jong Un said "Everything for the people and everything by relying on them!" is the core of leadership idea to which the Party Central Committee held fast without an inch of deflection and slightest concession.
And he made a solemn pledge to work at the risk of his life as a faithful servant of the people on the road of devoted service for their well-being.
It is his intention to pluck a star from the sky and grow flowers even on a rock if the people wish.
Today the WPK is invariably maintaining its nature as the great defender bearing full responsibility for the people's destiny and as the servant making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.
