The 45th Conference of the Union of Korean Students in Japan (UKSJ) took place at the hall of the Osaka Prefectural Headquarters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) on Feb. 25.
Present there were Chairman Song Sang Gi, Vice-Chairman Kim Sang Hyon and Director of the International Affairs Department Song Ji Hwa of the Central Standing Committee of the union and representatives of the union.
Congratulatory messages from the Kim Il Sung University Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League and youth league committees of other universities in the homeland were read out and a congratulatory video shown at the conference.
The conference discussed such agenda items as "On the report about the work of the UKSJ Central Committee", "On the settlement of accounts of the 44th UKSJ Central Committee and the draft budget of the 45th UKSJ Central Committee" and "On the election of chairman, vice-chairman and members of the 45th UKSJ Central Committee".

The reporter noted that during the period under review the union has conducted a dynamic drive for thoroughly implementing the tasks specified in the important letter sent by the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un to the participants in the 25th Congress of Chongryon.
He underlined the need to further intensify the ideological education and the cultivation of national character among the union members and concentrate efforts on building the basic organizations well and further expanding the ranks of the union in order to make substantial development and change in the work of the union in hearty response to Kim Jong Un’s New Year message.
Then followed speeches.
Song Sang Gi and Kim Sang Hyon were reelected as chairman and vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the union.
