Recently, the spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that China expressed strong opposition, on several occasions, to the discussion between the U.S., the UK and Australia over “AUKUS”-Japan cooperation.
The spokesperson said:
We do not support confrontation between camps and oppose to increasing the danger of nuclear proliferation and intensifying arms race.
The states concerned should fully discharge their international obligation and avoid doing anything that undermines peace and stability of the region and the world.
Due to the modern history of aggression of the Japanese militarism, Japan’s movement for military security has always been the interests of the neighboring countries in Asia and the international community.
In conclusion, the spokesperson stressed that Japan should deeply reflect on its history of aggression, go along the road of peaceful development with sincerity and abandon its trick of building a “small fence” in the field of military security.
