In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea education is regarded as the most important issue concerning the future of the nation.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un considers the work for the rising generations to be the most important of the state affairs and pays special attention to education.

In order to further develop education of the country he saw that a law on enforcing the universal 12-year compulsory education was promulgated at the Sixth Session of the Twelfth Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK in September Juche 101(2012).

He also made public a number of works including "Let Us Glorify Ours as a Country of Learning and Talents Power by Bringing about a Revolution in Education in the New Era" and "Teachers Should Do Their Duty as Career Revolutionaries in Implementing the Party's Policy on Bringing about a Revolution in Education", illuminating the road for the educational development.

And he took measures to call the 14th National Conference of Teachers on an unprecedented scale in September Juche 108(2019) in order to improve the education in keeping with the demand of the times and the developing revolution.
