Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex produced more iron and steel during the first quarter of the year as against the same period of last year. The complex fulfilled the pig iron and rolled steel production plans by steadily bettering the operating technology of the oxygen-blast furnace and applying advanced working methods.
The Chollima Steel Complex finished its rolled steel production plan through mass technical innovation movement and movement for increased production. The Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex carried out their assignments by dovetailing the processes and actively introducing the rational furnace-operating method for increasing the output of molten iron and improving its quality.
The Musan Mining Complex successfully blew up 500,000 cubic metres of earth, providing a firm guarantee for increased concentrated iron ore production. The Chongjin Steel Works, the Hungnam Electrode Factory and the Puryong Ferroalloy Factory also brought about tangible results in their monthly assignments while concentrating efforts on readjustment and reinforcement.
